DEG is a nationally recognised leader in engineering assurance, delivering accredited services that support the safety, compliance and performance of New Zealand's most critical infrastructure. Founded in 1991 by Dean van Buuren as a Timaru-based steel inspection business, DEG has grown into a multi-disciplinary group with offices in Hamilton, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin, and Nelson — and mobile teams that work every region in between.
 

We are 100% New Zealand owned and operated. Decisions are made here.

DEG CONSULTING ENGINEERING

ISO 9001 (ECAAS) certified. Structural and mechanical engineering, design, assessment, producer statements, and forensic work.

DEG SURVEY & INSPECTION

ISO/IEC 17020 IANZ‑accredited inspection body. Pressure equipment, cranes, lifting gear, EWPs, NDT, weld testing, and IQP inspections. Inspection Body No. 82.

DEG CALIBRATION & COMPLIANCE

ISO/IEC 17025 IANZ‑accredited metrology and calibration laboratory. Provider of accredited HV compliance services in New Zealand. Calibration Laboratory No. 1416.
